"Jimmy" Is the Independent's Biography of the Month for January 2025
The British paper bestowed the honor ahead of the book's UK release this month.
I am proud to share that The Independent has named Jimmy: The Secret Life of James Dean its Biography of the Month for January 2025 and the lead title in their books-of-the-month review column. Book reviewer Martin Chilton gave Jimmy four stars: “I can avow […] that in Jimmy: The Secret Life of James Dean, author Jason Colavito offers a sympathetic, discerning account of Dean’s life set in the context of the antigay panic of the 1950s.” Jimmy goes on sale in the UK later this month, and I am glad to see that the British are less skittish about the book and its subject matter than US media.

congratulations and well deserved, hope this will lead to new attention to the book and interview opportunities for you
Congratulations, Mr Colavito! I am so happy that you are getting recognition for your passion project, especially with the political climate these days.
I've followed you since Ancient Aliens. My husband and I would watch the show, then I'd read your post to him and we'd laugh at the liberties taken with facts. (Too bad that's carried through to more walks of life...). And we hope to follow you through to wherever life takes you next. You are a truly gifted writer. Thank you for the hours of enjoyment from your posts.
Live long and prosper.
