This is why I love reading your stuff. I too will obsessively research some obscure fact to the source, even when it took me years returning to it time and again. Facts matter, no matter how inconsequential they may seem at the time. We have forgotten that recently to our detriment.
Hand holding in the 60's. I once had a frnd who somehow ended up at Bob Jones University, during that period he was caught on campus holding hands with his wife to be and both were warned, that its forbidden. Sometime thereafter they were again caught holding hands on campus, (they were engaged) and both were booted from the university. Don't say you weren't warned. They were both 'straight' didn't make any difference.
