A few "unexplained" reports suspiciously seem to have blossomed when the military started using FLEER scanning. FLEER also images bird flocks, lightning bursts, etc. in much the same way. Just like early radar picked up false "hits". The "Gimbel" UFO (I am Old School, no UAF for me) looks all the world like a large predator bird wheeling in the sky to me.
